Sea Shell Macro
I had set up a small macro studio in my office and wanted to try out different lighting and camera settings. The only problem was I needed something to photograph.
Thankfully, a recent visit to my parents house solved the issue. My mother has a large amount of seashells she has collected over many years of trips to various beaches, and these seemed like perfect subjects for my studio’s trial run. I grabbed a handful and headed home. Here are the results:
Spring in Texas
Spring in Texas typically brings two things: heat, and wildflowers.
Driving through rural Texas, you will be met with fields of Bluebonnets, rolling hills covered in Indian Paintbrush, and all manner of other colorful flowers.
While I was late to the season, I did manage to capture some photos of the floral beauty of Texas.
Winter in Colorado
While attending a friend’s wedding, I was able to experience the winter conditions of the Colorado mountains.
I was able to take a couple photo walks on the trip, and I used it as an opportunity to test out my then newly-purchased Fujifilm XT30. I was shooting with the 18-55 kit lens. While I took close to a hundred photos, the vast majority of these were just me experimenting with the lens, different focusing techniques, and Fuji’s beloved film simulations. Of the images that I took, these are the ones that stood out to me as worth keeping.
